[MT6761] TWRP Recovery for Redmi 6A and ROOT Guide

TWRP Recovery for Redmi 6A (cactus) is now available to download. this post guides how to download and install TWRP on Redmi 6A and also guides how to ROOT Redmi 6A (using TWRP recovery).

INSTALLING THE TWRP FOR Redmi 6A NEEDS AN UNLOCK BOOTLOADER ON Redmi 6A.DURING THE BOOTLOADER UNLOCK PROCESS ALL THE PHONE DATA WILL BE ERASED.

Redmi 6A Phone, USB cable and a Windows, or Linux or MAC PC with ADB and fastboot installed on it.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE OF HOW TO INSTALL TWRP & ROOT REDMI 6A:

Download the archive.
Unzip the "TWRP-3.2.3-1020-OMFG-mod_b6.rar"
ADB Drivers must be preinstalled.
Put the phone into Fastboot mode (hold Volume down button & Power buttons, hold until the hare appears)
Connect the phone cable to computer.
From the "TWRP-3.2.3--------------" folder, run flash-twrp.bat
Press Enter.
After the firmware, to enter TWRP, hold the volume up & power, after the vibration, release the power, hold the volume until entering the recovery.
After enter the TWRP, go to Mount & Uncheck 'data' & 'cache' and Check 'system' & 'vendor'. Then go back.
Go to install menu & install "Magisk-v18.0.zip".
After successfully installed magisk, reboot your system.
After rebooting your device,install the "MagiskManager-v6.1.0.apk" and open it.
Now check the root status by "Root Checker App" from Play Store.
You can use "Quick Reboot App" for entering TWRP Recovery.
